Star Parties are a public service of the DVAA and are FREE!! Adults and children are welcome.
We are pleased to announce that we have returned to the original public star party format! DVAAmembers setup and operate a number of telescopes and binoculars, and members of the public are invited to observe through the telescopes. Members of the public should feel free to bring out your own equipment as well. In either case, be prepared to learn a whole lot about the sky (the DVAA loves to talk astronomy)! If you'd like to be notified about weather-related changes, register for the event with your name and email. Also include your cell phone number if you'd like to receive a text. SPECIAL KIDS OBSERVING AREA at this star party! Join high-school student and DVAA member Daniel Adibi for a tour into the cosmos. We'll be taking a look at various planets, the moon, and deep-sky objects including galaxies and nebulae (as long as the skies are clear). Recommended minimum age: 7. All attendees under age 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
