The Birth of Affordable Remote Astrophotography
Carlos Garcia is a smart telescope astrophotographer and a pioneer in remote observatory deployment. In August 2024, he marked a major milestone by installing the very first ZWO Seestar at Starfront Observatory in Texas, ushering in a new era of truly affordable remote astrophotography. Since then, he has inspired hundreds of astronomy enthusiasts worldwide to place their own Seestars in dark-sky locations across North America. He is also a member of the Southern Cross Astronomical Society, where he serves on the board and outreach committee.
Today, Carlos has expanded his network with the launch of Easy Scopes, a remote observatory located in West Texas that offers users global access to the pristine, dark skies of the Big Bend region—the largest dark-sky reserve in the world. Passionate about community and innovation, Carlos continues to advocate for accessible imaging through smart telescope networks.
