Outdoor meeting at Militia Hill Pavilion MHL-3, Fort Washington State Park. Directions: Enter the Militia Hill Day Use Area from Militia Hill Road, Joshua Road, or Skippack Pike. Follow signs to "Pavilions." Park in Lot #3. The pavilion building is labeled "L-3" but is shown as "MHL-3" on the map. The format will be an "astronomy fair;" attendees will be able to circulate among the exhibits and speak to DVAA experts. Open to all DVAA members and the public. New DVAA members are especially encouraged to attend. DVAA members do not need to register, but registration of non-members is recommended. The exhibits will be open 6:30-8:30pm rain or shine, including: Solar observing and planning for the 2024 total eclipse, DSLR astrophotography, all about telescopes, NASA's Night Sky Network, saving the night sky, astronomy apps, and others. Weather permitting, observing on the field adjacent to the pavilion will take place 8:30-10:30. If you would like some personalized help with your telescope, bring it to the event and there will be experienced members who can help you observe successfully.
